Delivery and Management
Evaluate all elements of property asset delivery, marketing, and management both in their component parts and as an integrated project to establish their alignment with market need, cost, efficiency, utility, performance, and compliance with regulatory agency requirements
This phase of development is vital in getting a project completed, marketed, budgeted, and managed on time. Most projects can be quite dependent on the time a project is finished. This concept has been taught to us through examples like retail shops being open for holiday seasons or a mixed-use center before football season (like Century Square that is being developed in College Station). A project must be marketed well if developers and investors want customers or tenants to be interested and join. Also the management of the construction of the project can affect if a project is constructed on time, in the right order, within budget, and environmentally. Finally the budget management of a project can completely affect if the project comes out as desired or ends up being set behind and lowered in quality due to poor management.
The project below was created for LDEV 663 (Introduction to Project Management). I needed to create a Microsoft Project Gantt Chart that shows the sequential order for developing a 125-lot residential subdivision in the optimal amount of time. I had never used Microsoft Project before this, but I found myself catching on quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed this project. Putting events in order and connecting them to each other correctly was like a puzzle.
